Activities
Meetings are held at 7.30 pm on the second Friday of odd months in the Anglican Church Hall, corner of Cadell and Crocker Streets, Goolwa. We usually invite a guest speaker and occasionally members address meetings. Members share birding experiences and sightings, and bring along items for display and discussion.
Outings take place three or four times between meetings. We meet at designated points at 8.30 am. Bring lunch and a chair. We record sightings and are building a comprehensive database of local birds which can be used to show seasonal movement patterns and changes in populations.
Campout at a venue farther afield is arranged annually in the last weekend of October. See our pics of Campout 2007.
In October 2007, we hosted a special event: Fleurieu Bird Encounter.
Social occasions include a barbecue breakup in December and an annual dinner in August.
Our newsletter fleurieu birdwatch is published in alternate even months.
A brochure Birdwatching on the Southern Fleurieu is available from local libraries and visitor information centres or by contacting us.
