Our first field trip on Tuesday 23 October was to Scott Conservation Park and a Juvenile Brown Treecreeper aroused interest there. During lunch at Currency Creek Lions Park a Clamorous Reed-warbler fledgling was spotted.
In the afternoon we watched a pair of Red-kneed Dotterel skittering across the mud at the Goolwa effluent ponds.
We then moved on to the Goolwa barrages where Pelican were plentiful ... and still calling Australia home.

Thursday morning's field trip to Newland Head Conservation Park yielded wonderful observations of Spotted Pardalote in a sandy bank ... and at lunch in Kent Reserve a demonstration of an expert's way of getting up close and personal.
At Nangawooka Flora Reserve in the afternoon we found Black-faced Cuckoo-shrike on a nest ... and Red-browed Finch.
